Hello fans! This weekend, we got the top on for the pod. Realizing we’ve made a small mistake on the first trailer, this first Humanity Pod will be a mega-pod compared to the remaining ones to be built. Somehow, in our 3-week hiatus after our initial partial build of the trailer, our measurements changed, and instead of a 36″ pod, ours is 48″, making for a much bigger living space, but a more difficult size to maneuver in traffic. In subsequent builds, that will be fixed.
I’m working on another prototype to show off when we bring it downtown, but, on April 17th we’re holding a “Build a Pod day” at 520 Florence Rd., from 9am-3pm. Please join us as we work to build several pods through outside stations with different building tasks!
You could help make the trailers, or cut out patterns in Coroplast, zip tie units together, or even paint a finished pod. Work with others who are vaccinated or are in your family pod. 9am-3pm.
Lunch provided! Call 413-270-2985 if you have questions, and send an email to humanitypods@gmail.com if you want to attend!
